YOUTH2WORK is a collaborative effort between the Local Workforce Investment Board of Western Illinois and University of Illinois Extension.

The movement from high school to the world of work represents a critical developmental transition during late adolescence for all youth. Whether youth move on to work, college or another post-high school alternative, it is beneficial that youth make informed decision about their career paths

Developing effective career intervention strategies has always been an important part of academic growth and maintaining well-qualified workforce. Recently the importance of this issue has changed because "education and skills have become a more stark dividing line between success and failure in the new labor market"

This project seeks to recognize the contributions of many different types of organizations and the critical role they play in youth workforce development.
